Computing Help Desk to Offer Extended Hours
29, 1999 -- Computing questions don't just come up
between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you're a student
working in a lab, a faculty member at home, or a staff member on
second shift, there's a good chance that you've had questions after
normal University business hours.
ITC Computing Help Desk
has extended consulting hours during most nights. In addition to
the Help Desk's regularly scheduled hours, phone consulting will
be available by calling 924-3731 between 5 and 11 p.m., Sunday through
Thursday evenings. Help Desk staff will be available to answer the
usual range of PC, Macintosh and Unix-related computing questions.
There will be no walk-in consulting available and the statistical
computing support schedule remains unchanged. Changes to hours will
be posted in the System Alerts and Downtimes section of ITCWeb (http://www.itc.virginia.edu/itcweb/new/alerts/home.html).
pilot program will run through the end of the spring 1999 semester.
