Educator To Edit New Reference Work Describing Global, National
Education Efforts

M. Cooper, a professor in the University of Virginias Curry
School of Education, has been chosen to edit a new encyclopedia
offering a comprehensive description of the education enterprise
nationally and worldwide.
Cooper,
U.Va.s Commonwealth Professor of Education, has been named
associate editor for the "Encyclopedia of Education, Second Edition,"
an eight-volume set to be published by Macmillan Reference USA in
2002. Through more than 1,500 articles, the encyclopedia will examine
the institutions, people, processes and products involved in education.
As
associate editor, Cooper will be responsible for early childhood
education, special education, and elementary and secondary formal
schooling.
