School Of Commerce Masters Degree In Management Of Information
Systems
March
9, 2000 -- The McIntire School of Commerce at the
University of Virginia is offering a tuition waiver for two Virginia
residents for its 12-month masters degree program, Management
Information Systems (M.S./M.I.S.). They are valued at $25,000 each.
Those
interested will have to act quickly, however. The application deadline
for the next class, which begins in May, is Wednesday, March 15.
The
executive-format program enables working professionals from a broad
array of industries to obtain a graduate degree through a combination
of on-site classes and course work completed at home via computer.
The curriculum integrates business skills in strategy, finance,
marketing and project management with technology skills in information
technology (IT) architecture, e-business, and enterprise systems
-- giving professionals the skills needed to analyze business problems
and identify IT-based opportunities.
Computerworld
magazine recently recognized McIntire's M.S./M.I.S. program as one
of the top 25 techno-MBA business programs in the country.
The
Virginia Information Technology Scholars Program rewards Virginia
residents who show promise in the information technology field through
their academic or work experiences. In addition to their regular
academic workload, VIT Scholars will conduct M.I.S.-related research
and/or a training project for the duration of their program. Scholars
receive a full remission of in-state tuition and fees and the opportunity
to earn an additional stipend.
