School Of Architecture To Host Lecture By Architects Nader Tehrani
And Monica Ponce De Leon

11, 2000 -- Boston-based architects Nader Tehrani
and Monica Ponce de Leon will give the Michael Owens Jones Lecture
at the University of Virginia School of Architecture on Friday,
Sept. 15, at 5 p.m. in Campbell Hall Room 153.
Tehrani
and Ponce de Leon, principal partners in Office dA, will
speak about their work, which includes urban design, restaurants,
galleries, housing, interiors and furniture. They have received
numerous awards for their work and have exhibited widely.
Their
current work includes a master plan for the town of Wayland, Mass.,
which received a 1999 Progressive Architecture Design Award, and
a renovation of Harvard Graduate School of Design offices.
In
1997, Ponce de Leon and Tehrani were awarded the Young Architects
Award from the Architecture League of New York. They both teach
architecture and urban design at Harvard Graduate School of Design.
The
Michael Owens Jones lecture was created to feature the work of young
and up-and-coming architects who are at the leading edge of architectural
practice.
