Fayerweather Gallery Kicks Off The Year With Its Annual Faculty
Exhibition
August
16, 2000 -- The
University of Virginia's McIntire
Department of Art opens its exhibition year with a show featuring
new work by faculty artists in Fayerweather Gallery. A First Fridays
reception will be held Sept. 1 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the gallery
on Rugby Road.
Featured
in the exhibit are works by William Bennett, Richard Crozier, Dean
Dass, Lydia Csato Gasman, Philip Geiger, James Hagan, Megan Marlatt,
Akemi Ohira, Elizabeth Schoyer and David Summers. New faculty members
Kevin Jerome Everson and William Wylie also will be exhibiting their
art, along with visiting artist Suzi Fox.
Everson
will teach cinematography in addition to installation and performance
art. Wylie will teach photography. Suzi Fox will teach drawing and
sculpture.
The
gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m.
to 5 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Admission
is free. The show runs through Sept. 29.
