Offers Accommodations To Families Of Graduates During Finals Weekend,
May 19-21
March
15, 2000 -- Most hotels and motels in the Charlottesville-Albemarle
area report no vacancies during the University of Virginia's Finals
Weekend, May 19-21. To assist families of graduating students
with accommodations, U.Va. is accepting housing reservations for
residence hall suites May 19, 20 and 21. Reservations are being
accepted on a first-come-first-served basis for about 144 suites.
At
$20 per person, per night (plus tax), reservations may be made for
up to three nights. The suites, located in the Alderman Road residence
halls, can accommodate 8 -10 people. The non-air-conditioned suites
include a living room and a common bath facility. Due to limited
space, more than one family may share suites.
On
Sunday, May 21, guests may use the free bus service to Final Exercises.
Shuttles will run continuously starting at 7 a.m. and ending following
diploma ceremonies.
