The
Free Bridge Quintet Performs EVERYBODY WRITES!
February
24, 2000 -- Original jazz compositions will be composed
and performed by The Free Bridge Quintet on Sat., Feb. 26, at 8:15
p.m., in Old Cabell Hall. Tickets are $10 for general admission,
$5 for students and 5 ARTS$ for U.Va. students.
The
Free Bridge Quintet was established in 1998 as a faculty Jazz Ensemble.
Comprised of U.Va. Performance Faculty, the quintet features Jeff
Decker, Saxophone; Bob Hallahan, piano; Robert Jospe, drums; Pete
Spaar, bass and John D'earth trumpet. Their inaugural performance
was sold out. U.Va.'s Council for the Arts underwrote Free Bridge's
debut CD Spanning Time in the spring of 1999. Judith Shatin, chair
of the McIntire Department of Music writes "The Free Bridge Quintet
CD is full of lively wit, imagination and musicianship that enlivens
all that these talented musicians do."
