Architect Kathryn Gustafson To Give Talk At The University Of Virginias
School Of Architecture
February
24, 2000 -- Internationally recognized for her design
of town squares, corporate landscapes and public parks, landscape
architect Kathryn Gustafson will give this years Myles Thaler
Lecture at the University of Virginias School of Architecture.
Her talk, "Landscape and Architecture: Are There Boundaries?,"
will be on Friday, March 3, at 12:30 p.m. in Campbell Hall, Room
153.
Gustafson
received her degree in landscape architecture from Versailles and
practices in Paris, London and Seattle. Her recent works have been
with the Seattle Civic Center, the American Museum of Natural History
in New York and the Crystal Palace in London.
The
Myles Thaler Lecture was established to honor the memory of an alumnus
of the School of Architecture and to bring nationally prominent
scholars and practitioners to give presentations on the subject
of "The Meaning of the Garden." The series aims to expand
public awareness of the cultural significance throughout history
of gardens both public and private.
