Center
for Nursing Historical Inquiry Announces Fall Schedule
Sept.
18, 2000 -- The
U.Va. School of Nursing's Center for Nursing Historical Inquiry
announces the Fall 2000 schedule of Nursing History Forums, which
are free and open to the public. All presentations will be held
in McLeod Hall, Room 2005, from noon-1 p.m.

Wednesday, Sept. 27 -- "The Silent Majority: The History of Hospital
Staff Nurses." Presented by Kathy Haugh, RN, MSN, assistant professor
of nursing at the University of Virginia.

Wednesday, Oct. 18 -- "Getting Along: The Development of Nurse
Practitioner Organizations." Presented by Julie Fairman, Ph.D.,
R.N., F.A.A.N., assistant professor at the University of Pennsylvania
School of Nursing.

Wednesday, Nov. 15 -- "Who Cared?: Landmarks in the Care of Crippled
Children in Virginia, 1910-1940." Presented by Mary Gibson, R.N.,
M.S.N., instructor at the University of Virginia School of Nursing.
Also
scheduled is the eighth annual Agnes Dillon Randolph Award and Lecture,
to take place on Wednesday, March 21, 2001 from 4:30 to 6:00 PM
in McLeod Hall Auditorium. The 2001 award honors Elizabeth M. Norman,
Ph.D., R.N., F.A.A.N., author of We Band of Angels.
