OutPrints, A One-Day Experience Of Multimedia Art Installations
At U.Va.
March
28, 2000 -- Multimedia works by senior printmaking
students, faculty and members of the local art community will be
exhibited in a one-time event called "OutPrints" at the University
of Virginia on Saturday, April 1. Attendees should gather between
10 and 11 a.m. in Newcomb Hall Art Space. The exhibit will continue
with an artist-guided bus tour at 11 to view works at McCormick
Observatory and Starr Hill, followed by a walking tour of works
exhibited on the Lawn and in and around Fayerwether Hall.
The
more than 30 art works deal with real and virtual spaces and include
an invisible horse, a prayer flag, "heaven in a computer," and prints
created by people who used themselves as the printing plate. The
fourth-year students have spent the semester working with visiting
professor and printmaker Bogdan Achimescu. The event will take place
rain or shine.
Presentation
proposals by the artists can be viewed at http://www.outprints.org.
