of Nursing Web Site Rated One of the Top Internet Resources for
Nurses

20, 2000 -- The
Web site for the University of Virginia School of Nursings
Center for the Study of Complementary and Alternative Therapies,
located at www.nursing.virginia.edu/centers/alt-ther.html,
was recently chosen as one of the top Internet resources for nurses
and is featured in Springer Publishing Companys new book,
Internet Resources for Nurses. Web sites were selected in
accordance with the professional opinion of nurse experts with regard
to the quality of content for nurses to find information about selected
topical areas. Credit was also given for the accuracy, ease of use,
and up-to-date nature of the Web site, as well as for appearance.
The Center for the Study of Complementary
and Alternative Therapies (CSCAT) is a NIH-funded center established
as a mechanism to stimulate research in complementary and alternative
medicine (CAM) therapies and its Web site is designed to inform
researchers, nurses, prospective and current students about the
use of holistic medicine in pain management. The Centers director
is Dr. Ann Gill Taylor, nationally known for her work in magnet
therapy and pain management.
