Washington Drug Official To Speak At U.Va.'S Curry School

September 28, 2000 -- Bob Weiner, the chief of press relations for the Office of National Drug Control Policy, will describe the national drug control strategy during a talk Oct. 2 at the University of Virginia.

In his talk, which will begin at 7 p.m. in Ruffner Hall Auditorium, Weiner will discuss prevention, interdiction and treatment strategies as they relate to the White House’s war on drugs.

Activities of the Office of National Drug Control Policy center in large part on substance abuse prevention education and on working with the media, sports and entertainment industries to discourage the glamorization of alcohol and drug use.

The talk will take place during a Curry School of Education class on "Substance Abuse in Society," but is also open to the public.
