Artist
And Art Critic Stephen Westfall To Lecture At The University Of
Virginia
March
14, 2000 -- Stephen Westfall, painter and contributing
writer for Art in America, will give a talk on his painting and
his role as an art critic on Friday, March 24, at 5 p.m. in Campbell
Hall, Room 160. His lecture is sponsored by U.Va.s McIntire
Department of Art and Fayerweather Gallery.
The
recipient of three fellowships from the National Endowment for the
Arts and two from the New York State Council of the Arts, Westfall
has exhibited his paintings nationally and internationally. His
works are included in the collections of Bon Marche in Paris, the
Albertina Museum in Vienna and the Baltimore Museum of Art in Maryland.
In addition to Art in America, his writings have appeared in Vogue,
The New York Times, Arts, Art News, the Partisan Review and the
New Criterion.
