"African and Latino Sources of U.S. Music: A Keyboard
Conversation"

This
event will explore, through live keyboard performances and recordings,
how black and Latin music shaped jazz and other popular American
music. The program also commemorates African-American History Month
(February) and Hispanic Awareness Week at U.Va., while celebrating
community and faculty-student interaction at U.Va.'s Hereford Residential
College.
Sponsored
by Hereford College, the Office of African American Affairs, La
Sociedad Latina and La Alianza, the celebration is free and open
to the public.
