Local Ticket Sales: Dave Matthews Band Concert
Special Presale for Charlottesville Residents Only

February 27, 2001 -- The Dave Matthews Band will perform in concert on Saturday, April 21, at 6 p.m., at Scott Stadium at U.Va.'s Carl Smith Center. Special guest will be Neil Young & Crazy Horse. Doors open at 4 p.m. and parking lots at 2 p.m. Tickets go on sale Friday, March 2, at 6 p.m. at the Scott Stadium Box Office, charge by phone (804) 262-8100 or order online at www.ticketmaster.com.

The Scott Stadium Box Office will hold a wristband lottery system on Friday, March 2, for Charlottesville residents and U.Va. students.

Numbered and color-coded wristbands will be distributed between 4 and 5 p.m. at Scott Stadium's south-east gate closest to Stadium Road and Whitehead Road. At 5 p.m., the color and number for the first ticket to be sold will be drawn by lottery. Wristband holders will then be lined up by number inside the stadium. Tickets will be sold from 6 to 10 p.m.

NOTE: Everyone who arrives between 4 and 5 p.m. will have an equal chance to the first ticket. Under this lottery system, there is no advantage to coming early.

The ticket price is $46.50 + Ticketmaster service charge and the Scott Stadium Box Office will accept cash or major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diner's Club) only. No checks will be accepted. Each purchase is limited to 4 seats on the field or 6 in the stands.

Charge by phone will also take "pre-sale" telephone orders from local residents on March 2, beginning at 6 p.m. by dialing (804) 262-8100. You may also call long distance at (540) 343-8100 or (757) 671-8100.
