Cornelia
Oberlander, a recipient of the Order of Canada, that countrys
highest honor for lifetime achievement, is known for expressing
cultural, social and environmental concepts in her work.
Her
expert technical knowledge has informed her designs for low-cost
housing projects and playgrounds throughout Canada and, more recently,
her integrated landscapes for high-profile public buildings.
Oberlanders
mother, who wrote gardening books for children, imbued her with
a love of nature. A trademark of the architects work is her
ability to create landscaping designs that blend with the natural
environment.
