School Of Architecture To Sponsor Lecture By Austrian Architects
Carlo Baumschlager And Dietmar Eberle

28, 2001-- Proponents of architectures neo-modernist
aesthetic, Carlo Baumschlager and Dietmar Eberle of B+E Architects
in Lochau, Austria, will give a talk at the University of Virginia
on Friday, March 9, at 5 p.m. in Campbell Hall, Room 153.
Baumschlager
and Eberle have built over 150 projects juxtaposing vernacular architecture
with modern materials and color. Their attention to the principles
of economy of design, standardization of details, minimal site disturbance,
and construction that harmonizes with local ecologies has won them
critical acclaim.
