U.Va. School Of Architecture To Sponsor Lecture By Austrian Architects Carlo Baumschlager And Dietmar Eberle

February 28, 2001-- Proponents of architecture’s neo-modernist aesthetic, Carlo Baumschlager and Dietmar Eberle of B+E Architects in Lochau, Austria, will give a talk at the University of Virginia on Friday, March 9, at 5 p.m. in Campbell Hall, Room 153.

Baumschlager and Eberle have built over 150 projects juxtaposing vernacular architecture with modern materials and color. Their attention to the principles of economy of design, standardization of details, minimal site disturbance, and construction that harmonizes with local ecologies has won them critical acclaim.
