Virginia Economists To Discuss State, Regional And National Outlook
March
12, 2001-- Three noted Virginia economists will discuss
"The Economic Outlook for the Nation, State and Region"
at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the opening session of the Virginia
Association of Economists annual meeting at the Charlottesville
Doubletree Hotel.
The
three speakers are professor John Knapp of the University of Virginias
Weldon Cooper Center for Public Service; professor Roy Pearson of
the College of William and Mary; and Christine Chmura, a private
economic forecaster and analyst based in Richmond.
They
are longtime observers of the states economy. Their discussion
will cover the state's current general-fund revenue outlook.
Some
75 economists from colleges, universities and businesses around
the state are expected to attend the two-day meeting.
