David Larue Named Accounting Educator Of 2000
19, 2001 -- The Virginia Society of Certified Public
Accountants recently selected David LaRue, associate professor of
accounting at the University of Virginias McIntire School
of Commerce, as the Outstanding Accounting Educator of the Year
award was presented in recognition of LaRues excellence and
innovation in classroom teaching, his motivation and advising of
accounting students, and his active involvement in the accounting
expert in international taxation, taxation of corporate mergers
and acquisitions, and forensic accounting, LaRue also recently was
named McIntires new director of graduate accounting programs.
His current research focuses on issues in federal income tax policy.
serves as an educational and technical consultant to several of
the Big Five international public accounting firms. He has developed
and taught several courses for the Internal Revenue Service through
the New York University Graduate School of Law and has offered invited
testimony on tax policy issues before the U.S. House of Representatives
Ways and Means Committee.
