Laurie
Olin, trustee of the American Academy in Rome and professor of landscape
architecture at the Graduate School of Fine Arts at the University
of Pennsylvania, will lecture on contemporary landscape architecture.
Olin
is currently designing the Arts Precinct Master Plan for the University
of Virginia.
Other
campus planning projects include the University of Pennsylvania,
Stanford University, MIT and Yale. His broad range of work includes
design for public spaces such as Bryant Park and Battery Park City
in New York, as well as the corporate headquarters for Johnson &
Johnson.
Olin
has served as chair of the Department of Landscape Architecture
at the University of Pennsylvania and on the faculty at the Graduate
School of Design at Harvard University. He is the author of "Transforming
the Commonplace" (1996), "Across the Open Field" and "Essays Drawn
on the English Landscape," (1999).
