University of Virginia Art Museum Will Hold Annual Holiday Ornament

The
Young Friends of the University
of Virginia Art Museum will sponsor an annual Holiday Ornament
Art Auction -- "Favorite Things" -- at the museum on Saturday,
Dec. 8, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.
Tickets
are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Advance reservations
are required. Call the museum at (434) 243-8874 for information.
The
festive evening will feature a silent auction of holiday decorations
by artists from around the area and country, including John Owen,
Cary Brown, and Richard Crozier.
Last
year's event raised $12,000 to support "Early Visions,"
an educational outreach program for at-risk youth, and for the stewardship
of the museum's collection.
Young
Friends promotes cultural, educational, social and volunteer activities
to foster the museum's role as a cultural resource for the community.
