U. Va. No. 7 On Peace Corps' Volunteer List

Peace Corps Announces Top Volunteer Universities And Colleges

March 20, 2001-- The University of Virginia ranks seventh on the Peace Corps' annual list of top volunteer-producing schools, with 63 graduates and alumni serving as of Jan. 2, 2001. While a slight drop from sixth place with 70 graduates in 2000, U.Va., which has a strong commitment to public service, consistently stays in the top 10 of the Peace Corps' rankings.

Since its founding in 1961, 677 U.Va. graduates and alumni have served in the Peace Corps. U.Va.'s class of 2000 produced 20 volunteers
