p.m. at the Frank Ix Building in Charlottesville.
A closing
reception for the Universitys "Fringe Festival" art exhibition
will follow the event from 5:30 to 7 p.m.
Perry
was commissioned by a company to create the "Lincoln Square Murals"
for a large office building located just around the corner from
the famous Fords Theater where President Abraham Lincoln was
assassinated in Washington, D.C. The murals involve two images of
Lincoln. One panel depicts a critical scene from the rehearsal of
Shakespeares "Henry IV," which Lincoln saw performed at the
Fords Theater in 1863. Another panel shows visitors ascending
the steps of the Lincoln Memorial and includes various references
to the Civil War.
Both
the exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
