this year include Sam Abell, Michael Fitts, Elizabeth Gillaland,
Jon Golden, Gray Ibbeken, Mary Kalergis, William McDonough, Italo
Scanga, Sharon Shapiro, Bill Sublette, William Wylie and youth from
the Summer Art Program 2002.

and social events, will support the museum's 2003 Summer Art Camp,
which serves more than 90 local youth, half of whom receive need-based
scholarships.
Campers
work with artists and educators to investigate works in the museum
and create their own art. This past summer, students from grades
five through 11 worked with famed National Geographic photographer
Sam Abell to learn techniques and make their own photographs.
Prizes
will be given away at a drawing at the end of the evening. Items
include a signed copy of “Sam Abell: The Photographic Life,”
a gift certificate to CitySpa and a signed poster from the Virginia
Film Festival. The evening will conclude with dancing at Starr Hill
Restaurant & Brewery.Auction
patrons will receive a discount on admission.

event, which includes cocktails and hors d’oeuvres, is open
to the public. Tickets are $40 for museum members and $50 for non-members.
