The
public is invited to a First Friday reception at the University
of Virginia Art Museum on April 5 at 5:30 p.m.
Featured
will be two of the museums recent exhibitions, "Treasures
from the Earth: Art of Southwestern Native America" and "Ten
Works by Ten Painters: A Portfolio of Screenprints."
"Treasures
from the Earth" contains pottery, baskets, textiles and jewelry
made by southwestern Native Americans. "Ten Works by Ten Painters"
features screenprints by contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol,
Frank Stella and Robert Motherwell. Both exhibitions are drawn from
the museums permanent collection.
The
reception is free of charge to museum members. Admission is $3 for
guests and non-members.
