Marsha
Haufler, professor of art history at the University of Kansas, will
give the University of Virginia Art Museums Ellen Bayard Weedon
Lecture in the Arts of Asia, on Thursday, April 25.
Hauflers
talk, "Portraits and Personalities in the Temples of Ming Beijing,"
will be at 5:30 p.m. in Campbell Hall, Room 153.
Haufler
received her Ph.D. in art history from the University of California,
Berkeley, and has taught at U.Va. She served as director of the
Center for East Asian Art Studies at the University of Kansas and
has written extensively about Chinese art. She is chair of the editorial
board for the Archives of Asian Art.
The
annual lecture series is made possible through support from the
Ellen Bayard Weedon Foundation.
