The public is invited to a First Friday reception at the University of Virginia Art Museum on June 7, at 5:30 p.m.

Featured will be three of the museum’s recent exhibitions, "Treasures from the Earth: Art of Southwestern Native America," "Ten Works by Ten Painters: A Portfolio of Screenprints" and "Art Beyond the Classroom: Selections from the Curriculum Support Fund."

"Treasures from the Earth" contains pottery, baskets, textiles and jewelry made by southwestern Native Americans. "Ten Works by Ten Painters" features screenprints by contemporary artists such as Andy Warhol, Frank Stella and Robert Motherwell. "Art Beyond the Classroom" underscores the significant impact the Curriculum Support Fund has had both on the Art Department and on the rich development of the museum’s collections. All three exhibitions are drawn from the museum’s permanent collection.

The reception is free of charge to museum members. Admission is $3 for guests and non-members.
