Physics Day Show At U.Va. April 24

Eighth Annual National Physics Day show at the University of Virginia
WHEN:
Wednesday, April 24, 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.
WHERE:
U.Va. Physics Building
Presentations
by University of Virginia physics professor Robert Watkins and lecturer-demonstrator
Mike Timmins will intrigue and excite people of all ages. They will
use the power of physics to lift a human being with a vacuum cleaner.
Children will be able to ride the Physics hovercraft. The Grand
Finale of Physics at the end is sure to please.
Both
showings of this family-oriented educational demonstration are free
and open to the public. Parking is available in the garage on Emmet
Street, in the football stadium lots or behind the Physics Building,
located at 382 McCormick Road near Whitehead Road.
National
Physics Day is sponsored by the National Science Foundation, the
American Institute of Physics and other science organizations to
promote public awareness of physics through educational outreach
activities.
