WHERE:
Campbell Hall Public Gallery
An
exhibition of watercolors, "Works by Victor Elmaleh,"
will be on view in Campbell Hall Public Gallery at the University
of Virginia, Thursday, May 16, through the summer. The gallery is
open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A
reception will be held in the gallery on Friday, May 17, 4 to 6
p.m.
A 1942
graduate of the U.Va. School of Architecture, Moroccan-born Elmaleh
began to paint in the 1960s. His works, primarily watercolor and
collage, have been exhibited in numerous shows and galleries in
New York, Boston and other cities and towns in the Northeast as
well as the University of Virginia Art Museum and the Asolo Festival
in Venice, Italy.
Elmaleh
practiced architecture for only a few years after graduation before
entering the international trade business. Currently, he is the
chairman of World-Wide Holdings of New York.
