WHAT:
Gallery Talk, Book Signing and Reception
WHEN:

WHERE:

In the exhibition,
“Stillwater: Photographs by William Wylie,” the artist
captures the timeless qualities of the changing flow patterns and
light fluctuations on the Cache la Poudre River as it travels through
Fort Collins, Colo.
In conjunction
with the show, on exhibit through Oct. 27 at the University of Virginia
Art Museum, Wylie will give a gallery talk and sign copies of, “Stillwater,”
a limited edition book of river photographs. The events will take
place at a reception on Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. in the museum.
“The Poudre
can be seen from highways, shopping malls, car lots, city parks
and houses,” said Wylie, U.Va. assistant professor of art.
“Yet, just beyond the willow shoots, close to the water’s
surface, the significance of place resonates.”
The exhibition
and gallery talk are sponsored by The Hook, Tim and Virginia Michel
and the Arts Enhancement Fund.
The University
of Virginia Art Museum is open to the public without charge Tuesday
through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m. Limited parking is available for visitors
