U.S.-Cuba
Relations Will Be Subject Of April 21 Program
April 10, 2003 --
Albert A. Fox Jr., president of the Alliance for
Responsible Cuba Policy, an organization that seeks to foster better
political and cultural relations between the United States and Cuba,
will speak at the University of Virginia on Monday, April 21. His
talk at 7 p.m. in Rouss Hall, Room 202, is open to the public.
Fox
will talk about the status of foreign relations between the United
States and Cuba. The Washington, D.C.-based group, whose members
include several former congressmen and government officials, believes
the U.S. trade embargo with Cuba is outdated and inconsistent with
American values and interests.
The
talk is sponsored by U.Va.’s History Club and the Departments
of History and Politics.
