University Of Virginia Art Museum Seeks Docents

January 7, 2002-- The University of Virginia Art Museum is seeking members of the community to become volunteer docents. Applications are being accepted now for the new class, which begins Jan. 29.

Docents lead tours for thousands of schoolchildren, university students and adults each year and are an integral part of the museum’s education program.

Topics covered in the docent-training program include learning theories and art history, as well as tour themes and techniques.
