Gallery Joins U.Va. Art Museum For Fourth Friday Openings

Fayerweather Gallery will join the University of Virginia
Art Museum for Fourth Friday events beginning in February.
“Fourth
Fridays is a wonderful opportunity for those who enjoy First Friday
art openings on the Downtown Mall to enjoy the wonderful art being
created and exhibited at U.Va.,” said Bill Bennett, chairman
of the McIntire Department of Art’s studio art program.
On
Friday, Feb. 28, the work of Andra Samelson will be featured
in a show titled: “Ephemeris.” Works on paper will be
exhibited in the gallery, and a lawn installation will be placed
in front of Fayerweather Hall.
A special
digital art exhibit will be the focus of the Fourth Friday, March
28, event. Collaborative digital works by Bogdan Achimescu, U.Va.
visiting assistant professor of art, his students, and Artur Tajber
and his students at the Fine Arts Academy of Krakow, Poland, will
be exhibited.
Fourth
Friday receptions begin at 5 p.m. Parking is available in the A-6
parking lot on Rugby Road at the end of Mad Bowl.
