Nystrom
And Tilghman To Read From New Works

A
pair of award-winning University of Virginia writers, poet Debra
Nystrom and novelist Christopher Tilghman, will read from their
newest books at 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 20, at the U.Va. Bookstore.
Both teach in the Creative Writing Program in the English department.
Nystrom’s
second collection of poems, “Torn Sky,” was
recently published by Sarabande Books. Her poetry has appeared
in many anthologies and
top journals, including the American Poetry Review, Yale Review, Ploughshares,
TriQuarterly and Threepenny Review. She has received prizes from Shenandoah
and the Virginia Quarterly Review and numerous Pushcart Prize
nominations.
Tilghman
is the author of the novel “Mason’s
Retreat” and the
fothcoming novel “True Fragments,” as well as two highly praised
short story collections, “In a Father’s Place”and “The
Way People Run.” His many awards include a Whiting Writer's Award and
the Ingram Merrill Foundation fiction prize.
