Virginia Film Festival Director Richard Herskowitz will give a gallery talk at the University of Virginia Art Museum in conjunction with the exhibit, “Bill Viola: Six Heads.” Herskowitz’s talk, “Video Art and Bill Viola,” will be given on Saturday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m. and again on Tuesday, Nov. 16, at 12:30 p.m.
The exhibit is an example of experimental media art that is characterized by extreme time — the cinema’s ability to freeze, stretch and compress time — which played into this year’s Film Festival’s theme of “Speed.”
The U.Va. Art Museum is open Tuesday through Sunday, 1 to 5 p.m.
