Painters From Orange County Featured at U.Va.'s Fayerweather Gallery. The works of Joe Simms and Laura Burrell, two artists with the Orange Studio Program will be featured through March 26 at the University of Virginia's Fayerweather Gallery on Rugby Road. Leading American Historians to Discuss Implications of Jefferson-Hemings Relationship. Some of the nation's foremost experts on Thomas Jefferson's era, race and slavery will gather in Charlottesville March 5 and 6 to discuss a wide range of issues that Jefferson's relationship with his slave Sally Hemings has raised for historians and for Americans generally. The conference will include a public panel at the University of Virginia March 6 in conjunction with a new book series on Jeffersonian America being launched by the University Press of Virginia. Spanish Theater Group to Perform Through March 7. The U.Va. Spanish Theater Group, now in its 19th year, will present "Bodas que Fueron Famosas del Pingajo y la Fandanga," by Spanish playwright Jose Maria Rodr’guez Mendez at the Helms Theatre through March 7. Full Story.
