Hurricane Katrina Aid and Relief Effort on Sept. 3
‘U.Va. Students Kare’ Members Will Be Collecting Cash And Checks At Season-Opening U.Va.-Western Michigan Football Game
September 2, 2005 --
University of Virginia Cavalier football fans attending the season-opener against Western Michigan University at Scott Stadium in Charlottesville on Sept. 3 will have the opportunity before and during the game to donate cash and checks in support of American Red Cross relief efforts in hurricane-devastated areas of the Gulf Coast. Checks should be made payable to the American Red Cross.
The fundraiser is being sponsored by U.Va. students from the New Orleans area, with the support of friends and Virginia students from other areas of the country. Students with “UVA Students KARE” (Katrina Aid and Relief Effort) will be positioned by each entrance to the stadium to accept donations. All money raised will be contributed to the American Red Cross.
