What:       Writer’s Eye Competition

When:       Competition deadline — Friday, Nov. 18, 5 p.m.

Where:       University of Virginia Art Museum

All entries for the 18th annual Writer’s Eye competition at the University of Virginia Art Museum are due by 5 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 18.

The goal of Writer’s Eye, organized by the docents at the museum, is to encourage a diverse and active response to the visual arts through prose and poetry. The contest is open to students in grades 3 through 12, University students and adults.

This year’s competition features 21 works on view in the museum’s permanent collection galleries and the special exhibitions from which applicants can choose to inspire their prose or poetry entries.

Application forms and regulations, as well as images of the works selected for this year’s competition are available at the museum and on the museum’s website: www.virginia.edu/artmuseum.
