April 20, 2006 -- Renaissance scholar and Harvard professor of art and architecture Frank Fehrenbach will give the final talk in the McIntire Department of Art Spring Lecture Series. Fehrenbach’s talk on Leonardo da Vinci, “Leonardo’s Point,” will be given on Thursday, April 27, at 6 p.m. in Campbell Hall, Room 160.

Fehrenbach is a leading authority on Renaissance art and his research covers a broad interdisciplinary focus on da Vinci’s interest in aesthetics and science. Other research extends to the early modern period. 

Fehrenbach is currently working on a book on animation and liveliness as central concepts in early modern art and art theory. He is also collaborating on three books titled "Renaissance Tombs of Tuscany," "Crisis and Epiphany," and "Art and Nature in the Renaissance."

A native of Germany, Fehrenbach holds a master's degree in art history, philosophy, and medieval and modern history form the University of Tübingen in Germany and a received his Ph.D. from Tübingen in 1995.
