94-04-26 Sprint-Centel Sponsors Ph.D. Fellowship at U.Va. Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities SPRINT-CENTEL SPONSORS PH.D. FELLOWSHIP AT U.VA. INSTITUTE FOR ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY IN THE HUMANITIES CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., April 26 -- The Charlottesville regional office of Sprint- Centel telephone company will sponsor a full fellowship for a University of Virginia Ph.D. candidate at the University's Institute for Advanced Technology in the Humanities for the 1994- 95 academic year. The fellowship, which will provide a $12,000 stipend plus tuition costs, will offer a humanities doctoral candidate the opportunity to conduct full-time research using the institute's advanced computer technology and support services, said institute director John Unsworth. The institute, established in 1992 and based in Alderman Library, supports innovative research, scholarship and creative activities in the arts and humanities for scholars at U.Va. and elsewhere with a wide range of sophisticated information technology. ### April 25, 1994 Karen A.
