U.VA. FINANCE EXPERT TO GIVE 1996 WILLIAM AND MARY ANNUAL HIGHER EDUCATION LECTURE CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., April 3 -- David W. Breneman, dean of the University of VirginiaÕs Curry School of Education, will present the 1996 William and Mary Annual Higher Education Lecture on April 17. The program brings together higher education leaders to discuss significant issues of current concern to colleges and universities. Breneman will address the William and Mary community, members of the State Council of Higher Education for Virginia, members of other colleges in the area and the general public, at the William and Mary University Center, Room Tidewater A , at 7:30 p.m. In his address, ÒHigher Education: On a Collision Course with New Realities,Ó Breneman, a noted authority on higher education financing, will discuss recent trends in public and private financing of higher education, with reference to state and federal policy, tuition, philanthropy and endowment earnings. He will also describe issues related to the shortfall of funds that are plaguing higher education in America. Roger G.
