EVENTS AT THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA ON FRIDAY, APRIL 24



	Tom Kane of the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard
University will discuss "Affirmative Action in Higher Education" from
noon to 1:30 p.m. in room 200 of Ruffner Hall.  He will present an
analysis of the impact of affirmative action on the racial composition
in the nation's universities and colleges.  Kane's talk is sponsored by
the U.Va.'s Curry School of Education. For more information call (804)

	Gregory Simon, chief policy advisor during the Clinton
Administration from 1993-97, is keynote speaker at a Technology and
Education Conference to be held at Ruffner Hall, room 200 from 9 to
11:45 a.m and from 2 to 4 p.m.  Simon will discuss the federal
government's technology and education plan.  The conference is sponsored
