			Vice President for Student Affairs William
Harmon and dean emeritus professor Raymond Nelson to speak.  (Rain

3:30 - 5 p.m.  Reception for international students and visitors,
International Center, 21 			University Drive

Sunday, Aug. 31

2:45 - 3:45 p.m. "Grounds for Discussion," series of skits for
first-year students, Old Cabell Hall auditorium

4:15 - 5 p.m.  "Grounds for Discussion," series of skits for
first-year students, Old Cabell Hall auditorium

7 p.m.  President's Convocation, U.Va. President John T.  Casteen III
to address new students, the Lawn (Rainsite:  University Hall) 

7:30 p.m.  Honor Induction, the Lawn (Rainsite:  University Hall) 

Monday, Sept. 1

10 a.m. - 4 p.m. "Student Organization Fair," lively scene where
student organizations encourage students to join, Amphitheater (Rain
cancels)

3 - 4 p.m.  "Grounds for Discussion," series of skits for new
students, Old Cabell Hall 			auditorium
4 - 7 p.m.		Class of 2001 Fajita Fiesta, Alumni Hall

9 p.m. - midnight 	Newcomb Hall Crawl

			Students will explore the variety of student
organizations and student pastimes available at the newly remodelled
Newcomb Hall 

Tuesday, Sept. 2

5 - 7 p.m.  First-Year Student B-B-Q, Hereford College With live
entertainment, the event will showcase the First-Year Resource Center.

Wednesday, Sept. 3

7 - 9 p.m.		Hypnotist Tom Deluca, Amphitheater 

Saturday, Sept. 6

9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. U.Va. students will conduct community service
projects throughout Charlottesville and Albemarle County.  Students
will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the Student Activities Building, Scott
Stadium Parking Lot

1 - 3 p.m.  Community Service Fair, lively scene in which U.Va.
students will visit with University, city and county organizations
that welcome volunteers, O'Hill Community Dining Room
