WEBB GAINS NEW POSITION AT U.VA. CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Aug. 6 -- Anda L. Webb has been appointed associate dean in the University of Virginia's Division of Continuing Education. Webb, whose appointment became effective July 1, oversees a variety of administrative and academic areas in continuing education, including personnel, educational technologies, budget and finance, building and grounds and marketing, design and production. The appointment is part of an on-going restructuring of U.Va.'s division that provides courses and programs throughout Virginia and the nation. "It is gratifying to appoint someone as associate dean who earned an advanced degree as an adult student and who can appreciate the value of continuing education," said Dean Sondra Stallard. Webb, who graduated from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1984, earned an M.B.A. in 1997 from James Madison University while working at U.Va. Prior to being named acting director of administration in continuing education in 1996, she was assistant to the provost in U.Va.'s Office of the Vice President and Provost. Each year there are approximately 30,000 enrollees in U.Va.'s continuing education programs offered at seven regional centers and the University Center at the FBI Academy in Quantico. ### August 5, 1997 Television reporters should call our TV News Office at (804) 924-7550.
