12-15-93 U.Va. Curry School Faculty, Program Receive Awards U.VA. CURRY SCHOOL FACULTY, PROGRAM RECEIVE AWARDS CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., Dec. 15 -- Faculty in the University of Virginia's Curry School of Education received three of the six awards presented at the annual Virginia Counselors Association conference held recently in Reston. Robert H. Pate Jr., professor and chair of the Curry school's human services department, received the Virginia Counselors Association 1993 Career Service Award. Claudia J. Sowa, associate professor of education and human services, was honored as the Jefferson Chapter's Member of the Year for outstanding service. Spencer G. "Skip" Niles, associate professor of education and human services, received the Division Member of the Year Award for the Virginia Career Development Association. At a recent regional meeting, the Curry school's counselor education program received the 1993 Outstanding Counselor Education Program Award.
