WINS INTERNATIONAL VIDIO AWARD CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA., Feb. 8--"A Caring Place: The U.Va. NICU" won a bronze medal in the health and fitness category at the New York Festivals recently. The University of Virginia Children's Medical Center commissioned the production of a video to orient parents and families to the services of the Newborn Intensive Care Unit. The video competed with 1,383 non-broadcast entries from more than 34 countries. Coordinator Stephanie McGuire, R.N., and Technical advisor Greg Newman, M.P.H., submitted the entry in the non-broadcast health and fitness category. The New York Festivals showcases selections of television and non-broadcast film and video productions that have achieved medalist status in awards competition. It presents gold, silver and bronze medals and grand award prizes for television and non-broadcast film and video production. U.Va. received the bronze medal at the Gala Awards Ceremonies in New York. The New York Festivals was founded in 1957 as an international awards competition designed primarily to reward outstanding achievements in non-broadcast media. It is still the major awards event honoring achievements in the educational, industrial, audio- visual and non-theatrical home video fields. ### Charlotte A.
