WILL BE HELD ON JAN. 25 The second annual celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday at the University of Virginia will be held Monday, Jan. 25, at 8 p.m. in Cabell Hall Auditorium. (The U.S. celebration is Jan. 18, before classes begin.) The keynote address will be given by the Rev. Brenda Brown-Grooms, a 1977 U.Va. graduate, who pastors the First Baptist Church in Natural Bridge. The Charlottesville native will discuss "Vision and (Re)Visioning at the Crossroads of the Millennium." Brown-Grooms is also a well-known storyteller and performance artist whose dramatic portrayals have included Sally Hemings. Some other local participants in the 1999 celebration include the dance group Chihamba, the Youth Alive Center Children's Choir and U.Va.'s African Drum and Dance Ensemble.
