MEDIA ADVISORY AMERICAN FOREIGN POLICY & ELECTIONS '96 TOPIC FOR THREE FORMER PRESIDENTIAL ADVISORS Howard Baker, Brent Scowcroft, Lawrence Eagleburger at Miller Center July 9 Three prominent former government officials will speak at a public forum with University of Virginia students on Tuesday, July 9. The forum is sponsored by U.Va.'s White Burkett Miller Center of Public Affairs and will take place in the Center's J. Wilson Newman Pavilion. There is a public forum at 11 a.m. and a student forum at 3 p.m. The public is invited to attend both. The topic of discussion is American Foreign Policy and the 1996 Elections. The panel will feature former U.S. Senator Howard Baker (R-Tenn.), former National Security Advisor Brent Scowcroft and former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger. Baker was chief of staff toward the end of the Reagan administration and majority and minority leader for eight years in the Senate. Scowcroft served as national security advisor during the Bush administration. Eagleburger is policymaker-in-residence at the Miller Center. He served almost four decades of foreign service as secretary of state in the Bush administration. The special afternoon session includes students from the University's program for Virginia's gifted and talented high schoolers.
