94-06-16 Charles Moore and Richard Poulson Will Lead the University of Virginia Alumni Association in 1994-95 CHARLES MOORE AND RICHARD POULSON WILL LEAD THE UNIVERSITY OF VIRGINIA ALUMNI ASSOCIATION IN 1994-95 CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va., June 16 -- Charles V. Moore of Greenwich, Conn., will begin a one-year term as president of the University of Virginia Alumni Association on July 1. Elected by the Alumni Association's Board of Managers, he will succeed Terrence D. Daniels, president of Quad-C Inc. in Charlottesville and former vice chairman of W.R. Grace & Co. in New York City. A 1961 graduate of the University's College of Arts and Sciences, Moore is president of Trainer, Wortham & Co. Inc. in New York City. He served as vice president of the Alumni Association this past year. In that post he will be succeeded by Richard J.M. Poulson of Hare Forest Farm in Orange County, Va. Poulson is a retired partner in the Washington, D.C., law firm of Hogan & Hartson who is now pursuing international investment-banking interests. Six alumni were elected to the Board of Managers. They are: -- T.M. Falcey of San Francisco, a 1969 graduate of the University's College of Arts and Sciences. A past managing partner of Peterson & Co., Falcey has served on the University's Arts and Sciences Alumni Council. -- Hobart V. Fowlkes of Baltimore, a 1963 graduate of the University's College of Arts and Sciences. Fowlkes retired in 1992 as a real estate appraiser, property manager and broker for Hill & Co. He is a past president of the University of Virginia Club of Maryland. -- Clifton C. Inge of Mobile, Ala., a 1958 graduate of the University's College of Arts and Sciences. Chairman of Willis Corroon Corp., Inge is a past president of the University's Arts and Sciences Alumni Council. -- Leigh B. Middleditch Jr. of Charlottesville, a 1951 graduate of the College and a 1957 graduate of the law school at the University. Middleditch is a partner in the law firm of McGuire, Woods, Battle & Boothe, a past president of the Virginia Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the University's Board of Visitors. -- Peter Quick of New York City, a 1978 graduate of the University's engineering school. Quick is president and chief operating officer of Quick & Reilly Group Inc., the holding company for Quick & Reilly Inc., a leading discount brokerage firm. Quick has served on the National Selection Committee for the Jefferson Scholars Program, which helps the University recruit students who excel in leadership, scholarship and citizenship. -- Fred M. Trainor of Fort Worth, Texas, a 1961 graduate of the University's College of Arts and Sciences. Trainor is founder, president and chief executive officer of AVCOR Health Care Products Inc. He played football for U.Va. and has served on the Jefferson Scholars Program's National Selection Committee. He is one of the originators of the Western Wahoo Open, a benefit golf tournament held in Las Vegas. Stepping down from the board as of July 1 are: -- Alan A. Diamonstein of Newport News, a 1955 graduate of the University's McIntire School of Commerce and a 1958 graduate of the law school. He is an attorney with the firm of Diamonstein & Staley and a member of the Virginia General Assembly. -- David A. Harrison III of Hopewell, a 1939 alumnus of the College who took a law degree at U.Va. in 1941. Harrison is a retired New York investment banker who owns Flowerdew Hundred Plantation, an important archaeological site in Virginia. -- W. MacKenzie Jenkins Jr. of Virginia Beach, a 1953 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences. Jenkins is president and chairman of the board of MacKenzie Fibres International in Norfolk. -- William C. Lickle of Palm Beach, Fla., and Wilmington, Del., a 1951 graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences and a 1953 graduate of the law school at U.Va. Lickle, who served as president of the Alumni Association, is the retired chairman of the board of Morgan Trust Co. of Florida and J.P. Morgan International Corp. in Wilmington, Del. He is now president of Renwil Corp. -- G. Revell Michael Jr. of Leesburg, a 1962 graduate of the architecture school. Michael is an architect with the firm of Michael & Michael in Alexandria. Though his term ends this year, C. Wilson McNeely III of Charlottesville will remain on the board as a representative of the Board of Visitors, to which he was appointed this year by Gov.
