MEDIA ADVISORY

     Surgery to stabilize Christopher Reeve's upper spine is
scheduled for Monday morning, June 5, at the University of
Virginia Medical Center.


     For media in Charlottesville, the press room in the primary
care center (classrooms A and B) behind the main hospital lobby
will be open from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. and from 3:30 to 6 p.m.,
EDT.  Telephones are available in the press room and off the main
lobby; cellular phones may not be used in the hospital.

      During the midday break, when the press room must be
vacated for a previously scheduled event, camera crews may secure
their equipment in a nearby room.  Please remember that the
hospital lobby is reserved for patients and their guests.



     A medical briefing on the surgery is scheduled for 4 p.m.
Monday in the press room.  A mult box will be available for
broadcast media.



TV EDITORS NOTE:  A raw tape feed of the 4 p.m. briefing will be
uplinked, continuously repeated, from 5 to 6 p.m., EDT.
